HE HAD AN IDEA. SHE SAID "LET"S DO THIS!"
When I was a bit younger, I was more of a naturalist when it came to camping. I'd pack my ruck with a tarp and a sleeping bag before escaping into the wilderness for days. I was content with that misery.
About 15 years ago, I was introduced to the world of RVs by my favorite ex-husband. I had never been exposed to them or anything like that. To be totally honest, after one night, I understood immediately why people opted for this mode of camping (even if it was kind of cheating the experience). No sleeping on slopes or tree roots, weird noises, waking up damp and cold, lugging equipment into the void, being able to eat more than soup and protein bars...
My life was quickly consumed with trips with the family and friends. We had such a blast, even with all of the effort. The loading and unloading, the maintenance, the hauling, parking, backing up... As I got older and busier, I didn't want to deal with that either. Alas, I trudged on because it was all worthwhile.
Fast forward to 2021. I had gotten busy with my career, the kids decided they had better things to do, the friends got busy with their lives going in new directions, and Covid hit. The Rockwood (The OG) sat lonely in the driveway. My partner had the idea of renting it to other families to make a little money and give someone else the opportunity to create some amazing memories themselves. I thought about all of the BS that went into prepping for vacation and decided that if we were going to do this, we would do everything all we could to make it as easy and stress-free as possible.
Now, here I am- driving a truck and hauling campers, running a full (albeit, very small) business trying my best to provide an enjoyable experience for my renters.
